This year the Ford lineup has some fantastic trim levels. Take the 2020 Ford Expedition, for instance. This large sport utility vehicle is getting the beloved King Ranch trim level of F-150 fame. If you need large and in charge, say hello to the Expedition. Ford is rolling out a whole bunch of goodies for this SUV and we can’t wait to show them off in this 2020 preview guide.
Expedition King Ranch
The 2020 Expedition King Ranch starts at $72,895, and you get your money’s worth. The Expedition measures 18 feet long and over six feet tall, the height of tall, dark, and handsome. Features exclusive to the Expedition King Ranch include 22-inch painted wheels, real wood trim, upgraded Del Rio leather seats and steering wheel and door panel coverings, and gray body accents, roof rails, and running boards. There’s plenty more to the King Ranch trim, namely everything on the lower trim levels. Truly, the King Ranch rivals luxury-brand SUVs. Get yours in regular or Max body configurations for extra space.

What Else is New for 2020?
What else is new? Plenty. For starters, there’s the Ford Co-Pilot360, now standard on all models. This suite of active safety features includes blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, and forward automatic emergency braking. All models also get Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment, an intuitive, reliable, easy-to-read, and attractive system if there ever was one. The top-tier Expedition Platinum is getting a 22-inch wheel design and more leather in the interior. And finally, there’s a new and optional Black Accent package that inks wheels, exterior trim, and body for a sleek and stealthy look. That’s a lot of change for one mid-generation year, but we like them all, so no complaints here.

Why Buy a 2020 Ford Expedition?
If you have a lot of people to haul and need the muscle of a real powerhouse, the Expedition really shines. Depending on configuration, the 2020 Expedition seats 7 or 8 passengers, with optional captain’s chairs in the middle row. In addition to all that passenger room, the back is filled with cargo room measuring 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 63.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and a startling 104.6 cubes in total. That leaves the competition in the dust. Even more impressive is the Expedition Max configuration that adds nearly 20 cubic feet to these numbers.

Thanks to the turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, you have all the power you need to haul or tow it all. In the top-tier Platinum trim, those numbers increase to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft. of torque. You can also take the 2020 Expedition wherever you need to go, thanks to its off-roading sensibilities that can dialed up to eleven with the FX4 Off-Road package that gives you all-terrain tires, limited-slip differential, off-road shocks, and skid plates, among other upgrades. Truly, the Expedition was meant to conquer any challenge put in its path.
